- Jesus did not let culture close doors to souls (John 4:4; Ecclesiasticus 50:25-26; Luke 10:36-37)
- Jesus began by engaging in friendly conversation (John 4:7; Proverbs 18:24)
- Jesus chose a time when others were not around (John 4:8; Acts 18:36; 1 Timothy 5:20)
- Jesus was not put off by potentially offensive statements (John 4:9; Proverbs 15:1; Acts 17:22)
- CARNAL THINGS DID NOT STOP HIM
- Jesus overcame fatigue (John 4:6; Galatians 6:9)
- Jesus offered here something more than she had (John 4:10; Ephesians 3:10)
- Jesus had to point her in the right direction (John 4:11-12)
- Jesus emphasized spirit and truth (John 4:24; Proverbs 16:25; Jeremiah 10:23)
- Jesus identified the Savior (John 4:25-26; 12:23; 14:6)
- Jesus took advantage of a spiritual opportunity at the cost of physical loss (John 4:31-34; Acts 24:25)
- COVETOUS SINS WERE NOT IGNORED
- Jesus did not ignore sins that potentially could close the door (John 4:16-18; Hebrews 13:4)
- CONTACTS LEAD TO OTHER CONTACTS
- Jesus used one contact to lead to many others (John 4:28-30, 39-43)
- Jesus also knew that it took more than one sometimes (John 4:35-38; 1 Corinthians 3:6-9; Mark 2:3-5)
